I promise
to relish in the terror of my death
as I plunge into the concrete
ocean of broken dreams.
Do not mourn the body that has broken into bread.
Instead –
Dig out an ivory cup
Rip out the rubbery straws
and suck from the scarlet spring of
stolen, senseless youth.
Do not bury me with the things I love
I beg of you –
Burn this body; let the hellish tongues
Soothe the skin
Let the soul burn black
Let the ashes permeate
the tasteful soils
and silence of my youth.
