How does the Backlog work?

Sometimes a large number of phenomenal pieces are submitted at the same time. We're dedicated to printing as much quality work as possible, but unfortunately we only have a certain amount of space available in each edition. Instead of outright rejecting a piece that, when submitted during a less competitive time, would have made the cut, we may simply save the document to our backlog. There is no guarantee that pieces in our backlog will ever be published, but if your piece is in the backlog, we may contact you about publishing whensoever we have space in an edition. We will not publish your piece without first contacting you and confirming that you are still happy to have it published. Should you wish to withdraw a piece from the backlog, please contact kamenamagazine@gmail.com at any time. As with other published pieces, a piece cannot be withdrawn after publishing.
